Nottingham Forest are in talks with Callum Hudson-Odoi’s agent over a new deal to keep the exciting forward at the City Ground, it is claimed.
The 24-year-old, who scored five goals in 36 appearances for the Reds last season, is the latest player the club is trying to tie down to a new long-term deal.
Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth reports that Hudson-Odoi’s representatives have been in Athens this week having talks with club officials over a new contract.
Taking to social media platform X, he claims that discussions have been “positive and ongoing” as the player enters the final year of his current deal at the club.
He also claims that rival clubs in the Premier League and Serie A have asked to be kept up-to-date with any developments.
Forest have worked hard on tying down some of their key assets this year. Defender Murillo and striker Chris Wood signed new deals earlier in the year while head coach Nuno Espirito Santo penned a new three-year contract last month.
Neco Williams is the latest to pen a new deal this summer, after which the defender dropped a hint about Hudson-Odoi being next.
On Tuesday, it was announced the Welshman had agreed fresh terms with the Reds. His previous contract had been due to expire in 2026 but Williams is now committed to the club until 2029.
Announcing his new contract, the right-back said on Instagram: “I’m delighted to announce I’ve signed a new 4 year contract with @officialnffc. Grateful for the trust the club has shown in me and the support from everyone around me!
“The work doesn’t stop here. Excited for what’s ahead this season in Europe and the Premier League.”
Williams’ post attracted plenty of responses from his Forest teammates.
Williams’ fellow full-back Ola Aina also replied and hailed the ‘FB UNION’. Posting a winking emoji, Williams responded: “You next?”
Likewise, there was a hint Hudson-Odoi could soon put pen to paper. The winger replied with some flame emojis and Williams said: “Your turn now.”
