Jack Harrison failed to pull up trees at Everton last season.
The winger spent the second consecutive campaign on loan at Goodison Park but notched just one goal in 34 Premier League matches.
David Moyes’ side are in the market for attacking reinforcements after Dominic Calvert-Lewin departed, and the Leeds star has been linked with a return despite his underwhelming contributions last time out.

Harrison reacts as Keane extends Everton deal
Michael Keane has signed a new one-year deal to remain with the Blues, after his contract ran out on 30 June.
The Toffees took to Instagram to share the news, saying: “Keane to continue.”

Current colleagues Jordan Pickford and Dwight McNeil also liked the post.
Everton still need to do significa nt business
Of course, keeping players around is a key aspect of the transfer window, and the Blues have already kept Keane and Jarrad Branthwaite on Merseyside.
However, they still need to make significant additions to the squad if they are going to compete higher up the table next season and push for a European qualification spot.

The Friedkin Group will need to invest in Moyes’ squad, and a deal for Villarreal striker Thierno Barry is believed to be close.
He cannot be the end of their business though; they still need to strengthen at right-back, in midfield and probably need another attacker.
Harrison cannot be that attacking signing, he had a miserable campaign last season and cannot be rewarded with a permanent move to the Bramley-Moore Dock outfit, that would be counter-productive.
He may well keep in touch with what is happening on the blue half of Merseyside, but he should not be allowed to grace the pitch at the new stadium.
The Blues want to progress, and bringing the 28-year-old back, whether on a permanent or a loan deal, would not be the answer to their problems going forward.
It would be a type of move that the former ownership would have done, and the new custodians of the L4 club must avoid making the same mistakes.
