Real Sociedad are accelerating their efforts for Brighton and Hove Albion defender Igor Julio, who is determined to leave the club this summer.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who report that Brighton have a need to sell off several centre-backs after the arrival of Oscar Boscagli.
They state that Brighton are looking to move players on as they now have six centre-backs on their books. Julio finds himself down the list and wants a change of scenery after a disappointing time with the Seagulls.
He wants to join a club where he can get regular playing time and stability and Real Sociedad have emerged strongly, already agreeing terms with him.
They’ve now accelerated their efforts to close a deal with Brighton for him. They believe Julio can be a key piece to complete their defence for next season. He fits the profile that they’re looking for.
A deal is on track and the negotiations are ongoing between them and Brighton. The belief is that they are progressing well, though, and could now step up because Brighton want to move players on after the arrival of Boscagli.
