Brighton and Hove Albion’s move for Club Brugge star Maxim De Cuyper is in the final phase and should be completed soon.
That’s according to Het Nieuwsblad, who report that the €20m deal taking the defender to Brighton is in the final stages.
According to their information, De Cuyper is expected to miss Brugge’s trip to Glasgow for a pre-season friendly tomorrow because the deal is so advanced.
Brighton made their move for the 24-year-old left-back earlier this week, with a report explaining that they had won the race for the defender after he chose them above other offers.
A deal was expected to be finalised quickly because of that, and Het Nieuwsblad now suggest that is the case.
They say that the €20m deal for the player is in the final stages and, because of that, he is expected to miss the trip to Glasgow alongside fellow departees Bjorn Meijer and Chemsdine Talbi. The latter is also set to move to the Premier League with Sunderland.
Their absence from the trip would suggest a deal is close and Brighton will be welcoming their new addition sooner rather than later.
