Club Brugge winger Chemsdine Talbi is set to miss their pre-season clash with Glasgow Rangers to finalise a move to Sunderland.
That’s according to Het Nieuwsblad, who report that the Brugge youngster is about to finalise a move to Sunderland.
According to their information, Sunderland have made a €23m bid for the 20-year-old and the deal is almost done. This tallies with reports from earlier today that Sunderland were closing in on a deal.
That is an offer that Brugge could not refuse, despite a desire to keep the winger after his brilliant performances last season, particularly against Atalanta in the Champions League.
Het Nieuwsblad report that Talbi feels ready for the next step in his career and is about to sign a deal with Sunderland. There’s a five-year contract on the table for him.
The deal is progressing quickly and so advanced that Talbi will not be boarding the plane with his Brugge teammates heading to Glasgow later today for a summer training camp and friendly with Rangers. The transfer deal is in the final phase.
He will become Sunderland’s latest addition in what is already a busy summer of strengthening for life back in the Premier League.
