The owners of club, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), clearly wanted to do more than just financially support Jota’s family during this hard time. It was clear to see that the club wanted to express their respect and affection for the Portuguese forward.
The player had two years to go on his contract. Therefore, as an act of comfort, it appears Diogo’s wife Rute Cardoso, and their children will be taken care of through the difficult period. Jota had been a key player for the Reds throughout his time. He had great impact on both their domestic and European campaigns.
