Arsenal quest to bolster their attacking options for the 2025/26 season has taken a significant turn, with Chelsea winger Noni Madueke emerging as a prime target.

The 23-year-old England international has caught the attention of Mikel Arteta, who sees the versatile forward as a perfect fit for the Gunners’ dynamic system.

Recent reports indicate Arsenal have initiated fresh talks with Madueke’s camp, with the player reportedly open to a move across London.

Madueke, who joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 for £35 million, has shown flashes of brilliance, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in 44 appearances during the 2024/25 season.

His ability to play on both wings, combined with his Premier League experience and familiarity with London, makes him an attractive prospect for Arsenal. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, these discussions are separate from Arsenal’s pursuit of Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, signalling Arteta’s intent to strengthen multiple attacking positions.

Chelsea, however, have set a £50 million valuation for Madueke, a figure Arsenal are hesitant to meet immediately.

The Blues’ recent signings, including Joao Pedro for £55 million, and their hefty summer spending may force them to consider offers for players like Madueke to balance their books. Despite his importance to Chelsea, manager Enzo Maresca has not ruled out a sale, especially with emerging talents like Estevao and Pedro Neto vying for spots.

Arsenal’s interest comes as they aim to address their lack of cutting edge, having drawn 14 league games last season. Madueke’s progressive carries (top 1% among wingers in Europe’s top five leagues) and penalty area entries could provide much-needed depth behind Bukayo Saka and competition for Gabriel Martinelli.

While no club-to-club agreement has been reached, Arsenal’s ongoing dialogue with Madueke’s representatives suggests a deal could materialise if financial terms align.

Fans are cautiously optimistic, with some wary of Madueke’s inconsistent end to the 2024/25 season but trusting Arteta’s ability to unlock his potential. As the transfer window progresses, all eyes will be on whether Arsenal can secure this exciting talent.
