Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano highlighted that Barcelona have shifted their attention towards alternatives for Williams, after the deal with Athletic Club star collapsed, which includes United outcast Rashford. He said:
“Barcelona have just received the message of Nico Williams deal collapsed today so it will take some time before they reactivate other options. Among these options, there is also Marcus Rashford. Marcus Rashford would be very keen on a move to Barcelona. Marcus Rashford is very open to that opportunity. Rashford would love Barca move and he is basically waiting for Barca move because he has many opportunities.”
The famed transfer expert also highlighted that Cunha has secured the number 10 jersey, which Rashford wore at United. He added:
“Matheus Cunha takes the number 10 as new Manchester United player. The number 10 was the shirt number of Marcus Rashford. He was informed 24 hours before about that, by his agent.”
Currently playing in his prime, Rashford has persistently failed to shrug off his struggles with consistency at the club. A change of environment is beneficial for both United and Rashford, as they intend to start the next chapter separately.
