Manchester United have been provided with new hope of completing a transfer for Viktor Gyokeres this summer after reports were released regarding his "stance" on a move to Old Trafford.

Since November, United have been linked with a swoop for Gyokeres - as Ruben Amorim looks for a prolific striker for his side. However, the club's failure to win the Europa League ensured no European football this coming season and, in turn, appeared to have hindered their ability to sign the Sweden international.

Reports have since suggested that Gyokeres "favours" a move to Arsenal with the Gunners looking to bolster their own attack. However, speaking to Betway, journalist Ben Jacobs understands that the 27-year-old has not formally rejected the notion of signing for United.

Jacobs says that Amorim's ideal plan would be to sign the striker he unearthed from Coventry City. Previously, it has been understood that United would need to sell players in order to fund a swoop for Gyokeres this summer.

While that is still the case, the new financial year means that this is less of a priority - for now. Jacobs claims that while United would need to sell at least two of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho, that could be done after Gyokeres joins to balance up the books.

It may seem positive for United at this stage, though Arsenal are still considered to be frontrunners for Gyokeres. RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko is also on their radar and it is thought United are looking to swoop in for the Sweden frontman should the Gunners decide that moving for Sesko and Gyokeres is too expensive.
