Leeds United confirmed another loan deal for Max Wober on Friday as the defender joins Werder Bremen.
It seemed so certain that Wober would leave Leeds permanently, but the 27-year-old will remain as a Whites player.
Fans were delighted Wober was being sold, but it’s certainly a dramatic twist to see him remaining at Elland Road.
It was made clear that Wober was to leave for a low fee, but after his loan was announced by Leeds, it brought confusion.
However, Leeds will benefit from PSR for Wober, meaning it’s not the end of the world, and the Austrian has now spoken out about his departure from Daniel Farke’s side.

Max Wober makes one thing clear after Leeds United exit
It was always destined that Wober wouldn’t remain in Yorkshire next campaign, but to see another loan for the player will be frustrating for both the star and fans.
Wober’s £12m transfer hasn’t worked out, as he no doubt got thrown into the deep end under Jesse Marsch.

Leeds were expected to get £3.5m, which although a loss on the fee stated above, it’s better than a loan, but things will balance themselves out.
Speaking in his first interview after his departure, the Austrian made something very clear to the Bremen social channels.
“Last year was tough with two knee surgeries. They weren’t severe injuries, but they took a lot of time and mental energy,” Wober said.
“In the last few months, I’ve been training at full intensity and even played a game for the national team again after a long time. I’m excited to leave that period behind me and now get back to my best. I will give my all to stay fit for the entire season.”

Smart strategy from Leeds’ Wober loan deal
With Wober embarking on his second loan away from Elland Road, he has the chance to impress in the Bundesliga again.
This is what he did with Borussia Mönchengladbach in the 23/24 season, as it seems like Wober found his level after his Premier League struggles, but did still contribute to Leeds’ title-winning campaign in the Championship.
Even though he showed his worth, Farke feels as though another loan will do him justice, which leads on to Bremen signing him permanently.
They can do this as the 49ers have had the smart strategy of including an option to buy in Wober’s new contract.
Wober will likely succeed once again in Germany, but after he struggled under Farke, it has to be confirmed that Wober will no longer be a Leeds player come next summer.
