Marcus Rashford is set to make a big push to leave Manchester United and join Barcelona this summer, according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna.

The Red Devils forward is among several players who is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer after his fall out with manager Ruben Amorim last season, which saw him loaned to Aston Villa for the second half of the season.

The England international was set to return this summer before Man Utd revealed that he has been given extended leave away before pre-season in order to sort out his future after expressing a desire to leave the club, and now it has emerged that Barcelona are ready to do business.

Rashford, who has been described as "world-class", is expected to leave the club this summer and is said to be prioritising a move to Catalan giants Barcelona over any other destination.

Barcelona were keen to sign Nico Williams to strengthen their left-wing position, but the Spaniard surprisingly signed a new 10-year contract at his boyhood club that saw his release clause more than double, which has killed off any chance of a move this summer.

Now the La Liga champions are eyeing a move for Rashford as an alternative, and the player is reportedly ready to make a significant push to get the move to go through.

It's believed that Barcelona and Manchester United will hold talks in the coming days about a move for the 27-year-old, with Barcelona hoping to find an agreement on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy next summer worth £40m.

It's currently unclear if Man Utd would be open to such a proposal, but it's clear he has no future at the club and it's obvious there is a deal there to be done before the season begins.
