Wober’s exit was expected this summer. The defender returned to fitness in January, but barely played till the end of the season. He also revealed in an interview that the club wanted to sell him. Some sources claimed that Daniel Farke pushed him out of the club after they a confrontation during the summer in 2023.
After completing his loan move to Werder Bremen, the defender said he was pleased to have made the switch:
“I had some really good talks with the people in charge at Werder. I can fully identify with the path the club is taking and I’m looking forward to what lies ahead. Of course, I’m also particularly looking forward to joining up with my three national teammates at Werder – I’m sure they’ll have a few tips for me.”
Leeds have a great replacement in Sebastiaan Bornauw
Wober has departed, but the club have added Sebastiaan Bornauw. The defender stands at 6ft3in and is very good in the air in both boxes. There is no doubt that he can fit into that rotation role. Bornauw is a huge threat from set pieces – he scored two goals from eight headers last season. It could be a very useful weapon for the Whites in the Premier League.
