Burnley and Crystal Palace in the race to sign midfielder

Swedish Midfielder Draws Top Flight Attention

Burnley and Crystal Palace are among the Premier League clubs interested in Napoli’s Jens Cajuste. The Swedish international shone at Ipswich Town last season despite the club’s relegation to the Championship, and now top-flight sides are circling.

Cajuste made 33 appearances for Ipswich, scoring and assisting once. His consistency in midfield caught the eye, especially given the pressure on Ipswich’s campaign. “Ipswich had an obligation to buy him if they had stayed up, and they have also maintained interest in signing him again this summer.”

Interest Building Across Europe

Sky Sports reports that Cajuste has been “shortlisted at a number of clubs across Europe including Besiktas and Sevilla,” with several sides keen to provide him with Premier League or continental football next season. His decision to join Ipswich over Brentford last year hints at a player motivated by the opportunity to play regularly.

Opportunity for Redemption in England

Now Cajuste may be handed a Premier League return, albeit with a different club. His loan stint proved his resilience, and at 24, he is entering his prime. “He may have the chance to play in the Premier League again at another club next term,” the report continues.

Final Word on Cajuste’s Prospects

There is clear admiration for Cajuste’s attitude and output. He battled through adversity at Ipswich, and that maturity now has multiple suitors intrigued.

Our View – EPL Index

Jens Cajuste would be a brilliant pick-up for us. At Crystal Palace, we need more midfield presence with energy and purpose. Watching him at Ipswich, he looked like someone who controlled the game without needing the spotlight. That is exactly what we need.

He is still only 24, and his experience in Italy and England is a strong foundation. Ipswich’s relegation didn’t overshadow his quality. Thirty-three games in a league that intense shows durability and consistency. If we can beat Burnley and the European clubs to him, it would be a smart bit of business. Especially knowing that Brentford were also interested before.

Roy Hodgson knew the value of a balanced midfield, and Oliver Glasner looks like he is building with a similar mindset. Cajuste could fit into a 3-4-3 or as part of a box midfield. “He may have the chance to play in the Premier League again at another club next term.” Let that club be us.
