This season, JJ Gabriel, one of Manchester United’s most promising prospects, made his Under-18 debut, bringing the team’s junior development back into the spotlight.
The 14-year-old is the youngest player to ever play for the Under-18 team, demonstrating his potential even though he is still a few years away from being able to sign a professional contract.
Despite being just 14 years old—October is his birthday—Gabriel is already making people take notice.
He has already drawn comparisons to eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi for his exceptional footwork and offensive flair, as well as his calmness in front of goal that belies his age.
Shortly after turning 14, Gabriel was promoted to the Under-18s, so he didn’t have to wait long to make his team debut.
It was also revealed a week back that JJ Gabriel has committed his future for the Red Devils.
The 14-year-old looked set to leave this summer before a crucial intervention from Jason Wilcox and Matt Hargreaves.
Now with the Brazilian talent set to stay, he is already set to join preseason training camp.

As per RedYouthUnited via X, JJ Gabriel has travelled with the u21s/18s professional development group for their training camp at the Adidas HQ in Germany.
One of the most promising prospects to pass through Carrington’s ranks in recent memory, he has been working with older age groups for a while.
This comes as no surprise after already making his u18 debut.
He would gain valuable experience going to Germany with players older than him.
Scouts from elite clubs throughout Europe have also taken notice of his rapid ascent through the academy.
The Red Devils have long taken pride in nurturing young talent, from the Class of ’92 to more recent graduates like Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo.
If Gabriel maintains his present level of play, he may be able to contribute to United’s future squads, but he still has a long way to go before he can be considered for Ruben Amorim’s first team.
