As soccer player Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva were laid to rest in their hometown in Portugal, his Liverpool Football Club left a heartbreaking message at his grave.
The brothers were buried after a funeral service on July 5. According to BBC, after the service and burial, a message was left by the Club at the cemetery.
According to BBC, the Liverpool Football Club's small card contained the message, "You'll Never Walk Alone."
The card was left at the grave along with two flotal tributes fashioned into red soccer shirts in the numbers 20 and 30, which were worn by Jota and Silva, who were both professional soccer players.
Photos also emerged of the Liverpool players carrying the floral tributes at the funeral.
Heartbreaking photos from the funeral also showed the brothers' wives at their coffins. Jota had been married to his high school sweetheart, Rute Cardoso, only 11 days before he died. They share three kids together.
They died in a fiery crash in Spain in a Lamborghini that police believe blew a tire.
The two brothers were mourned at the funeral by their wives, parents, and stars from the soccer world, including the Liverpool team.
The funeral was held in Gondomar, Portugal, the brothers' hometown, and many locals also turned out to pay their respects.
The funeral was attended by Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk, goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, teammate Andrew Robertson and manager Arne Slot, according to the New York Post.
Gondomar local Fábio Silva told BBC he went to the funeral out of "respect for the brothers, the family."
"Man, I can't believe it, I don't wanna believe it. Absolutely devastated and in total disbelief," Van Dijk wrote in a lengthy Instagram tribute. "What a human being, what a player, but most importantly what an unbelievable family man."
