West Ham United have reportedly failed with a £21.5m bid for Palmeiras midfielder Richard Rios.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reports that the Hammers made their move for the Colombian who has caught the eye at the ongoing Club World Cup. The East Londoners are one of several clubs eyeing the 25-year-old, with Inter Milan and Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal also interested.
GIVEMESPORT sources indicated last month that Manchester United had been monitoring Rios' performances in the United States. He has starred for Palmeiras, who advanced to the competition's quarter-finals before suffering a 2-1 loss to Chelsea.

West Ham have been told it will take at least £25.9m for Palmeiras to consider parting with Rios, who has three years left on his contract. He has an £85m release clause written into said contract, which puts the Brazilian club in a strong negotiating position.
The Irons look set to back Graham Potter with a summer overhaul that could start with the sale of Mohammed Kudus. The Ghanaian attacker is reportedly open to joining Tottenham Hotspur, with a £60m fee being touted.
