Manchester City’s transfer business is not done for the 2025 summer window.
The plan ahead of the summer market opening was to add four to five new faces to Pep Guardiola’s squad, and despite reaching this target already, the Premier League giants do not plan on stopping there.
Fabrizio Romano believes Man City will sign a right-back before the transfer window shuts, and with Kyle Walker’s exit to Burnley confirmed, the process may now speed up.
Tino Livramento is considered to be Guardiola’s top target for the right-back role in his team ahead of the 25/26 campaign, and the legendary coach has now been told how much it would take to bring the full-back to the Etihad Stadium.

Newcastle United want £80m to sell Tino Livramento
It was reported this week that Man City’s right-back search is one to keep an eye on over the coming weeks; however, a deal for Livramento will be very hard for the Manchester club to get done.
Eddie Howe does not want to lose the 22-year-old, and that is evident in the price tag the Magpies have now placed on the English defender.

According to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, Man City would need to part ways with £80m to sign Livramento this summer amid claims it would take an “astronomical” fee to let him go.
This is justified as the right-back was very impressive for the Magpies last season, and the Tyneside club are under no pressure to sell, as the English star has a contract at St James’ Park until 2028.
It remains to be seen if Man City would be willing to bid anywhere close to Newcastle’s asking price, but whatever happens, a new right-back is certainly needed if Guardiola’s men are to challenge Liverpool for the Premier League title over the next 12 months.

Man City’s alternative targets for Tino Livramento
Should Man City opt against paying the large fee that it would take to sign Livramento this summer, the Manchester club’s alternative targets have not been very clear.
It was reported in May that Flamengo’s right-back Wesley was a target for Man City, with the Manchester club said to be pushing for the Brazilian at the time; however, nothing came of the interest.
City may revisit their interest in the 21-year-old over the coming weeks, but their main focus will be Livramento and finding a way to bring Newcastle’s star to the Etihad Stadium for less than the £80m price being reported.
