Arsenal are in the market for some reinforcements this summer

Arsenal are in the hunt for some new signings this summer. They are looking to bolster their options at the top end of the pitch. The London club finished 2nd in the Premier League table in the last campaign behind Liverpool.

Mikel Arteta has the chance to bring in some reinforcements over the next couple of months. He also has the opportunity to let some players head out the exit door as well to free up space and funds. The Gunners face an away trip to face Manchester United in their opening game of the new 2025/26 season in August.

Arsenal eye Moise Kean transfer amid Viktor Gyokeres frustration

Arsenal have joined the race for £45million-rated Fiorentina striker Moise Kean, according to Calciomercato. The Gunners are being linked with a move for the Serie A man. Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in the player.

The Daily Mail claim Arteta has demanded that they sign a forward by the time they head on their pre-season tour to Asia later this month amid their pursuit of Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres. He wants to get a deal sorted as soon as possible which could put pressure on the club’s hierarchy. Gyokeres, like Kean, has also been mentioned as a potential target for Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.

Arsenal had to end the last campaign with Mikel Merino up front following injuries to Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. It is obvious that they are lacking a cutting edge in attack. Therefore, that is why Arteta is keen to address the situation as soon as possible.

Would Moise Kean suit Arsenal?

Kean, 25, would give Arsenal another option to pick from. He scored 25 goals in all competitions last term for Fiorentina, 19 of which came in the league. The Italy international has also had spells in the past at Everton, Juventus and PSG.

Regarding his tough stint at Goodison Park, he has since said in an interview: “Out of all the experiences I’ve had, you won’t ever hear me say I had a bad one. I find positives in all of them. If I hadn’t spent that year at Everton, I wouldn’t have learned the things I did there. I was a bit unlucky. I went there expecting to play a bit more. I was 19. I joined from Juve and thought I was going to smash it. Unfortunately, it didn’t go like that. We went through three coaches that year and mentally… it was all new for me. I was in England, it was a new environment.

“But England made me learn a lot about myself. I matured a lot. When I got there I didn’t play much. I used to think, ‘How am I not getting into this team, at Everton?’ Mentally, it made me evolve. I wasn’t playing and it was in dark times that I knew I had to grit my teeth and train even more. Then the chance to go to PSG (on loan) came along, I moved there and got everything out of myself that I could. I wasn’t playing at Everton and I knew I had to give triple. That’s how it went.”
