'Wonderful' Liverpool player could have moved closer to leaving after what Luis Enrique has just said - opinion

Liverpool have been at the centre of attention for most of the summer transfer window.

The Reds have been one of the busiest teams in football, with Arne Slot and Richard Hughes spending close to £200million on improving their ranks.

And, at the moment, with Caoimhin Kelleher and Jarell Quansah the only first-team players to have exited so far, it doesn’t feel like the Reds are going to slow down any time soon.

Several of Liverpool’s first-team squad have been linked with exits, and now, it feels like one of Slot’s key men may have one foot out of the exit door.

Luis Enrique believes Bradley Barcola will stay at Paris Saint-Germain this summer

Paris Saint-Germain were the team that knocked Liverpool out of the Champions League in their round of 16 clash.

Luis Enrique led his team through an impressive run and finally brought the trophy to the Parc des Princes after years of trying.

This impressive form has obviously sparked interest from other clubs in their players with Bradley Barcola among the most sought-after.

Both Bayern Munich and Liverpool have had their hat thrown into the ring for the Frenchman but after what Enrique has said about his future, it could be bad news for the Reds.

“We like that our players are interesting to other clubs. But he is one of those young players we have relied on. He has had an outstanding season,” he said to the media.

“I expect him to play here for many more years, and I think he wants that too. So, I have no doubts that he will remain our player.”

Why Bradley Barcola staying at PSG could be bad news for Liverpool

With Bayern’s chances of signing Barcola now slim, they’re likely to turn their attention towards other targets.

Luis Diaz is a player that has consistently popped up over the last couple of weeks with the Colombia international getting linked with an Anfield exit as he only has two years left on his current Liverpool deal.

However, as Vincent Kompany’s options get lower and lower, it feels like the Bundesliga outfit are likely to throw everything they can at bringing the attacker in from Liverpool.

Although nothing is set in stone yet, the likelihood of Diaz leaving seems to be increasing every day.

This, to be honest, is a bit of a worry, especially with the “wonderful” form that Diaz found himself in last season.
