Arsenal have a busy summer on the transfer front, with reinforcements needed in a number of positions, particularly in attack.
While Alexander Isak is Arsenal’s dream target up front, Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres have been the two attackers most strongly linked to Arsenal as of late.
However, as well as signing a new striker, the Gunners are also in the market for a high-quality winger.
Arsenal have made good progress over Noni Madueke, who has agreed personal terms over a potential move from Chelsea to North London.
However, the Gunners are also reported to be in talks over a different attacker, one who has made a name for himself as one of the best in his league.

Arsenal in ‘ongoing’ talks over Xavi Simons
Arsenal have shown considerable interest in Xavi Simons this summer, having scouted him a number of times last season.
Now, Italian football journalist Orazio Accomando has reported that the Gunners are in contact with Leipzig over the Netherlands international.
Accomando posted the update on X and, alongside providing information on Simons, he also touched upon the Madueke and Ethan Nwaneri situations.
“The negotiations between Arsenal and Chelsea are not just about the potential transfer of Madueke to the Gunners,” he began.
“The Blues have requested Nwaneri in exchange. Economic hurdle. Arsenal are asking for 10m plus Madueke’s transfer fee for the 2007-born player.
“Berta is working to deliver another coup for Arteta: talks are ongoing with Leipzig for Xavi Simons.”
TBR Football reported earlier this year that Simons could be available for £50million this summer.

Arsenal could get themselves their own Jamal Musiala
Simons has been on the radar of the Premier League’s biggest clubs for a number of years now and, with another superb season under his belt, interest in the 22-year-old is stronger than ever.
He was nigh-on unstoppable in the Bundesliga last term, with 10 goals and seven assists from 25 outings – and that’s despite an ankle injury keeping him out for a while mid-season.
The Bundesliga website previously compared Simons to Jamal Musiala.
They wrote in 2024: “Like the Bayern midfield star, he loves nothing more than gliding towards an opposition defence with the ball at his feet – and is just as happy to play a sleek pass on the edge of the box as shoot himself.
“He can be deployed on the left like Musiala, and also shares a clinical touch for goal that is every bit as fine as his nimble play.”
The league’s website also quoted Dani Olmo as saying: “Xavi is a different player. He has shown that so far in the time he has been here.
“We connect really well on the pitch but he can also do things on his own. He has an amazing dribbling technique, finishing as well.
“He’s a really complete player and for us, for our system, for how we play, our ideas, the coaches’ ideas, it is perfect for us.”
