Since January, Evan Guessand has been one of the foremost forwards linked with Graham Potter’s West Ham side. The OGC Nice front man who can, by all reports, play across the front line but is ideally a kind of ‘inside left’ hybrid striker, would be perfect for Potter’s post Mohammed Kudus plans at London stadium, and potentially an ideal foil for his opposite number at West Ham, Jarrod Bowen.
Of course the transfer market place waits for nobody and Guessand has no shortage of admirers.

Potter’s preferred choice he may be, but that doesn’t stop others vying for his signature, and according to reports today from footballinsider247.com the list of Premier League clubs after Guessand is growing and now includes Wolves, Brighton and none other than Tottenham:
“Sources: Tottenham could now pull off Guessand signing in West Ham blow” is the football insider report.
Whether Daniel Levy has taken a leaf out of the Tim Steidten playbook by chasing after West Ham’s target to try and get the Hammers to panic and take his offer for Mohammed Kudus is a ‘known unknown’ just now.
You’ll remember Steidten did the same thing when the Wan – Bissaka negotiations had stalled with Manchester United.
Steidten offered to buy Man U’s planned Wan Bissaka replacement Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich in a successful effort to bring the Red Devils rushing to the table in a more conciliatory mindset ( Full story ). So any Spurs bid for Guessand may be a similar strategy -or perhaps they just feel (like West Ham !) that he’s the better forward for half the money.
Either way West Ham’s inaction on the Guessand front makes it increasingly unlikely that Potter will land his man- other young forwards are no doubt under consideration.
