NFL Running Back Roasted After Video of Ridiculous Pitch Goes Viral

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara won't be joining fellow NFL players Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders as a "multi-sport superstar."

In fact, Kamara's first pitch on July 5 at Wrigley Field turned into two pitches.

The five-time Pro Bowler and 2017 Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year was in Chicago for NASCAR's third-annual street race, the Grant Park 165. The race is scheduled for July 6.

Kamara decided to celebrate by throwing out the first pitch during the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals game.

Unfortunately, he was "Juuuuust a bit outside!" according to MLB's now-viral video.

Kamara had a great response after the mishap.

After the initial opening pitch, he smiled and shrugged it off.

Then threw a much better pitch.

"The first one, I just let that s--- loose," he said with a smile while walking off the field in a video published by the Saints social media.

Do-overs are rare, but Kamara isn't the first athlete to get one.

In 2018, Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin attempted a ceremonial first pitch that sailed over then-Washington National pitcher Max Scherzer.

"Too excited, too strong," Ovechkin said after the mulligan, according toESPN. "I try to do my best."

In October 2024, former New York Yankees right fielder Paul O'Neill threw out the ceremonial first pitch before Game 4 of the World Series. When he didn't like his performance, he asked for a do-over, Sports Illustrated reported.

As far as football, Kamara doesn't need to ask for any do-overs.

Last season, Kamara, 29, became the Saints' all-time career rushing leader.

His 11,541 total yards from scrimmage since his rookie season (2017) is the second-most in NFL history over that span, behind only Ravens running back Derrick Henry, according to CBS Sports.
