Rodrygo to Arsenal transfer latest as Noni Madueke 'agreement' emerges

The Premier League season is approaching and for Arsenal, pre-season is just around the corner. There are forty-three days until the Gunners kick off their top-flight campaign against Manchester United at Old Trafford, in a quest which will see Mikel Arteta's side push to go one better in the title race.

In each of the last three seasons, Arsenal have lost out to the eventual winners after being second best in the push for the summit. Liverpool ran out title winners in May despite the North London club being early season favourites alongside Manchester City - who surrendered their stranglehold at the peak of English football.

Transfers are the flavour of the month with speculation dominating the summer, but Kepa Arrizabalaga is the only addition at the Emirates Stadium so far after swapping Chelsea for Arsenal.

But rumours continue to swirl surrounding the Gunners and who they can sign or want to sign, as the likes of Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres face the prospect of moving to the Premier League.

**football.london** have taken a look at the round-up of the latest rumours surrounding Arsenal.

### Rodrygo makes Arsenal 'absolute priority'

According to [HandOfArsenal](https://x.com/HandofArsenal), Real Madrid forward Rodrygo has made Arsenal his "absolute priority" with Saudi Arabian clubs told that his preference is to move to the Premier League.

The Brazilian faces an uncertain future at the Bernabeu as he finds himself battling to cement a place under new manager Xabi Alonso.

However, he faces intense competition for places with the likes of Arda Guler pushing for a starting berth.

In a tweet, the account wrote: "Intermediaries with direct mandate from Saudi clubs have been told in no uncertain terms that Rodrygo’s preference is to move to the Premier League, with Arsenal his “absolute priority” in case a deal can be struck with Real Madrid."

Rodrygo has three years remaining on his contract and reports suggest that Los Blancos would want a reported €90million (£77m).

**football.london says:** It's the type of news that could spark Arsenal in this transfer window but it all depends on how the attacking situation looks for Arteta's side. Rodrygo has found it difficult to break into Alonso's side during the Club World Cup with the Turkish sensation preferred to him throughout the tournament, he would be a great signing for the Gunners but the only stifling factor is the reported fee.

### Arsenal reach Noni Madueke agreement

According to [The Athletic](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6462138/2025/07/05/noni-madueke-arsenal-chelsea-transfer/), Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Noni Madueke as they consider approaching rivals Chelsea over a deal.

Attacking additions are on the agenda for Arsenal ahead of their return for pre-season and reports suggest the player has said 'yes' to a move but at this stage, no talks have taken place between the two London clubs.

The former PSV Eindhoven attacker is described to be on the radar of the Gunners because of his versatility.

He arrived from Holland in 2023 for deal worth £28million but with five years remaining on a deal, it remains to be seen what figure the Stamford Bridge club will demand.

**football.london says:** Like Rodrygo, Madueke would meet the requirements that Arsenal want in attacking areas. In moving to north London, he would likely become a key man - something that he hasn't quite managed to nail down during Chelsea's spending spree under Todd Boehly. Equally with the Brazilian, Arsenal would need to test Chelsea's resolve for his signature and with another five years on his contract at Enzo Maresca's side, it wouldn't be a surprise if their city rivals drove a hard bargain.
