Arsenal are now making serious progress in the transfer market and new sporting director Andrea Berta is beginning to prove his worth.
Berta has already improved the squad depth available to Mikel Arteta at Arsenal with the signing of Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, and Brentford’s Christian Norgaard should soon follow.
Arsenal have made a habit of recruiting from within the Premier League in recent seasons, and they’ll continue to do the same this summer.
And talking of habits, Arsenal intend to sign more players from Chelsea too, hence their interest in 23-year-old Noni Madueke.
It’s recently been reported that Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Madueke, even if a bid was yet to be sent to west London.
Arsenal ready to send an ‘opening bid’ for Noni Madueke
However, journalist Fabrizio Romano has now shared an update on X explaining that Arsenal are now ready to make an ‘opening bid’.
As things stand, Arsenal consider that they have insufficient cover on the right side of their attack for Bukayo Saka.

Ethan Nwaneri’s future is uncertain at Arsenal right now, but the 18-year-old is seemingly being considered as a number 10 first and foremost.
Therefore, Arsenal need further depth on the right, and Madueke is a very good fit stylistically.
Sharing his update, Romano said: “Understand Arsenal are set to send opening bid for Noni Madueke after agreement with the player on personal terms.
“Told Madueke has committed to a five year deal valid until June 2030, already approved by the player’s camp.”

It’s widely reported that Chelsea would expect to recoup around £50m if they sell Madueke this summer, a winger who scored 11 goals and provided five assists last term.
Ian Wright once spotted a ‘problem’ with Noni Madueke
Speaking back in 2023, Arsenal legend Ian Wright mentioned a slight problem Madueke needed to overcome to perhaps reach the top level.
Wright was speaking on Match of the Day following Chelsea’s 3-1 away win to Bournemouth.
And whilst the pundit was praising Madueke first and foremost, he spotted room for improvement when it came to the young English winger’s end product.
Wright said: “I think today he made the difference. Frank [Lampard] started him at Arsenal and said the reason why he put him in was because of how hard he’s been working in training to try to get that consistency to try to get himself in the team, and he’s done it.
“He was very, very good today, gave [Matias] Vina a lot of problems. The problem with him though, is his final ball. He holds it for too long and he’s going to have to learn quickly to make better decisions in that instance.
“He’s got this kind of ability to go past people and as time goes by he will feed it into the box, he’ll start to get that in his game, and once he does, Chelsea will have a real prospect on their hands.”
Two years on, Madueke has definitely improved in that regard, but the former Tottenham Hotspur youth player might still believe that he can take his game one step further at Arsenal.
