Five year contract agreed?

Morning all.

Eberechi Eze, Morgan Rogers and Noni Madueke have been in the Arsenal news of late but as reported yesterday by The Athletic, it seems personal terms have been agreed with the Chelsea man. Just this morning, Fabrizio Romano has suggested a five year contract has been agreed too.

He might be English but he’s not considered homegrown as far as the rules go because he left England to play in Holland at 16 years old. Bonkers in my opinion, he was born in Barnet!

If someone asked me which winger I’d like to see Arsenal sign, he’d not be on my list but hey, I’m a fan not a scout or data nerd.

Yes, he’d be another Chelsea cast off but let’s be honest here, that club signs players like you and I buy pints of milk so perhaps we shouldn’t let that cloud our judgement. One of his highlights of last season was his 14 minute hat trick against Wolves. The 23-year-old is a direct dribbler who thrives in one-versus-one situations and is able to play on either flank, with the majority of his minutes coming down the right wing. (The Athletic) I’m sure his ability to play on the left and right plays a part in Arsenal’s interest in him. Plus, he’s quick, strong and isn’t afraid to run at defenders. Music to my ears.

But let’s see what unfolds as I’ve read about Arsenal agreeing personal terms with a number of players this summer but as yet, only Kepa has signed on the dotted line. We need some positive news from the club which in my opinion means a striker, a midfielder, a winger plus one or two others through the door and soon. Soon because pre season is just around the corner..

We also need to hear that Bukayo Saka, Ethan Nwaneri and William Saliba have signed new contracts. Chelsea are sniffing around Nwaneri apparently but as already suggested, that club sniffs around many players. Despite the negative headlines, no doubt in attempt to upset fans, I’m pretty sure our young Englishman will soon put pen to paper, if he hasn’t already. Let’s not forget though, he’s still on his summer holiday after helping England win the Under 21 European Championship.

Arsenal have added two more pre season fixtures to their calendar, both of which will be played at The Emirates Stadium. The first is on the 6th August against Villarreal at 6pm, the second is against Spanish side Athletic Club in this year’s Emirates Cup.

Anyway, if Arsenal sign Madueke, will you be happy?
