Blackburn Rovers have rejected an opening bid from Arsenal for Igor Tyjon, reporter Alan Nixon has revealed.
Blackburn Rovers are a club renowned for their development of young players, bringing several notable names through their ranks over the years.
The academy has produced some fine players for the Rovers first-team, with many going onto bigger and better things elsewhere after making names for themselves in Lancashire.

One of the latest Rovers hopefuls is England youth international Igor Tyjon, who has continued to develop at an impressive rate since joining from Rochdale two years ago aged 15.
Top clubs have had eyes on the Blackburn Rovers prospect for some time and now, writing on his Patreon, reporter Alan Nixon states that Premier League side Arsenal have had an opening bid for the teenager turned down.
Nixon says that the Ewood Park outfit have knocked back an offer of around £1m plus add-ons for Tyjon. It is not said exactly how much at this moment in time, but Rovers are demanding more for the talented forward.
Arsenal still hold hope of prising the youngster away from Rovers, but they will have to improve their offer.
A clear pathway at Blackburn Rovers
As Blackburn Rovers will be sure to have made clear to Tyjon amid interest from elsewhere, there is a very clear pathway from the academy to the first-team for the club’s top young players.

Some have found experience out on loan before making their way to the senior setup at Ewood Park, but a prospect of Tyjon’s level may well find that he is on a path straight to the first-team. Previous starlets like Adam Wharton and Ashley Phillips followed such a trajectory before their exits.

Having impressed for the U18s and U21s, Tyjon has made two first-term appearances for Rovers. Should he stay and resist opportunities with the likes of Arsenal, it is very feasible he becomes a first-team player over the coming seasons.
Tyjon’s fellow Ewood Park hopefuls
Rovers have some highly-rated young players who could feasibly break into the senior side under Valerien Ismael.

Kristi Montgomery found opportunities towards the tail end of last season, while there are other highly-rated talents such as James Edmondson, Leo Duru, Harvey Higgins and Joe Boggan on the way up.
Blackburn Rovers, as they have become used to, will face battles to keep some of these prospects, just as they are with Tyjon.
