Milwaukee Bucks Might Be Ultimate Loser in Trade to Release Beloved 10-Year Veteran After News…

The Milwaukee Bucks need a point guard, until now, and some fans thought they did get a back up after they traded Pat Connaughton plus two second-round picks to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Vasilije Micic.

Micic, 31, has two years of NBA experience, having played for three teams. He suited up first for the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Phoenix Suns, and the Charlotte Hornets. He brags a stacked European ball experience having won almost everything there is. He won the EuroLeague MVP in 2021 and then the EuroLeague Final 4 MVP twice.

He could have been a Bucks point guard as the team already don’t have Damian Lillard who was released via a stretched-waive provision.

That won’t happen as the Bucks reportedly seek a buyout of his contract. Insider Bobby Marks dropped the news casually.

Most NBA commentaries already labeled the trade as Hornets’ win after they got Connaughton and two second round picks.

The Bucks got a failing grade and it should be much worse now that it is confirmed Micic won’t play a game for the team.

Their main takeaway here, of course, is they got rid of Connaughton’s $9 million salary.

Milwaukee Bucks’ search for point guard

Head coach Doc Rivers and general manager Jon Horst are still looking for a PG. They got Kevin Porter Jr. back but Rivers used him mostly as a a spark from bench.

Ryan Rollins took the starting role from time to time last year but right now, he and the front office are yet to finalize a contract.

Among the players being linked to them are Chris Paul and former Buck Malcolm Brogdon. Some reports claim Milwaukee is considering CP3 although the Point God is looking more to play close to his family in Los Angeles.

The Bucks need to make a move quick on Rollins who is being chased by other teams, too.

“Coming off the best season of his career, 23-year-old free agent guard Ryan Rollins has drawn interest from the Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns, San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trail Blazers, and Los Angeles Lakers,” wrote Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype.
