Report: After holding talks with Tottenham, ‘extraordinary’ attacker is now available for just £13m

Following the appointment of Thomas Frank, Tottenham Hotspur are beginning to make moves in the transfer market.

Daniel Levy and Tottenham’s transfer team have seemingly now had time to discuss targets with Frank, hence the club’s bid to sign Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United.

Kudus wants to join Tottenham, but it remains to be seen if the two clubs will agree a fee after Spurs’ initial bid was rejected.

But even if Tottenham are able to sign Kudus, the attacking additions may not stop there.

Levy wants to buy a striker at Tottenham this summer, even though the club spent a club-record fee to recruit Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth almost a year ago.

As things stand, either Richarlison or Dane Scarlett might be Solanke’s most obvious competition for a starting spot, explaining why more competition is needed.

That being said, TBR Football recently reported that Tottenham had been spoken to about Dusan Vlahovic’s situation at Juventus.

As things stand, Dusan Vlahovic is free to leave the Italian club, in fact, Juventus are actively trying to sell the Serbia international.

Vlahovic now only has one year left on his deal meaning Juventus are faced with the prospect of losing their big-money signing for free next summer.

As a result, TEAMtalk are now reporting that Vlahovic is available for as little as €15m (£13m) this summer, which is less than a quarter of the fee he cost Juventus in 2022.

Therefore, there’s a realistic prospect of Tottenham being able to afford a deal, even after completing a separate move for Kudus.

Vlahovic scored 17 goals in 44 games in all competitions last season, but his record over the past few seasons demonstrates that he can more than compete with Solanke in N17.

Vlahovic can replace Solanke at Tottenham

In a campaign in which Spurs did seriously struggle domestically, Solanke’s numbers somewhat underwhelmed during his debut season in north London.

And whilst no one will be writing Solanke off just yet, the addition of a player of Vlahovic’s quality to Spurs’ frontline could provide some very healthy competition.

Games Goals Goal ratio

Vlahovic for Fiorentina 108 49 0.45

Vlahovic for Juventus 145 58 0.40

Solanke for Bournemouth 216 77 0.36

Solanke for Tottenham 45 16 0.36

Vlahovic and Solanke’s goal record compared at their last two clubs.

Tottenham have the added pull of Champions League football next season, explaining why they should be able to tempt the ‘extraordinary’ striker to the Premier League.

And given that Everton want to sign Richarlison this summer, Spurs could definitely promise the Serbian sufficient chances.

Vlahovic might demand significant wages when joining a Premier League club, but a deal could ultimately prove worthwhile for Spurs, who have often scouted the striker in the past.
