With the team still battling FFP limitations, transfer outgoings, and a long list of names connected to Old Trafford, Manchester United’s summer has been filled with more questions than answers.
In an attempt to restructure the team during his first preseason as manager, Ruben Amorim has been insisting on upfront reinforcements.
Movement has been slow however.
The club officially announced the signing of Brazilian star Matheus Cunha and is pushing to sign Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo.
But with fans getting more frustrated daily regarding the Mbeumo saga, questions are being raised on INEOS.
Even though they haven’t finalised their exits for high-profile players like Dusan Vlahovic, Juventus, for example, has already made big movements on the market.
Kenan Yildiz also looks set to stay for the Serie A club as they aim to remove a few players.
And now, one of their players have had their interest renewed by Manchester United.
As per Matteo Moretto via Fabrizio Romano in Italiano on YouTube, Manchester United is one of the clubs who have made enquiries for midfielder Douglas Luiz but in a more cautious manner.
The Red Devils had already negotiated with the player in recent months and have now renewed their interest in him.
Luiz, who is 27 years old, is also just one year older than the age range that the INEOS recruitment plan favours, and because the Red Devils are also looking for a new midfield player, it would be a nice fit overall.
Christian Eriksen recently left the club on a free with the club now actively looking for a replacement.
Luiz could not only be a good market opportunity but also a player who can come in straight away and help Ruben Amorim’s side due to his technical skills.
