Manchester United are in the market for a new striker this summer and a surprise name has now been linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim wants more goals next season as he prepares for his first full campaign as Manchester United boss.
United were toothless for much of last season, and Matheus Cunha’s arrival at Old Trafford is the first addition to solve that problem.
United continue to chase Bryan Mbeumo as another attacking addition, though a move for the Brentford ace has really dragged on.
A striker will soon become the priority, with United potentially moving to build an entirely new front three for Amorim.
Ollie Watkins is on United’s radar, but there may be a temptation to look at more left-field options to bolster Amorim’s attack.

Manchester United linked with Almeria’s Luis Suarez
United have scouted Genk’s Tolu Arokodare, with the giant Nigerian emerging as a major goalscoring threat over in Belgium.
Portuguese newspaper A Bola now claim that United have shown an interest in Almeria forward Luis Suarez.
More United News
It’s stated that Suarez has attracted interest from top European clubs, with United rivalling the likes of Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Liverpool, as well as Sunderland.
Sporting are desperate to bring Suarez to Portugal, having identified him as their top target to replace Viktor Gyokeres.
United are also keen on Gyokeres, though a deal for the Swede doesn’t look likely as things stand.
Sporting would certainly hate to lose Gyokeres and then see United swoop in to snatch Suarez from under their noses.
Almeria are seeking around €25million (£21.6million) for Suarez, a fee Sporting are currently unwilling to pay.
That leaves the door open for other clubs to pounce, with interest seemingly mounting around Europe.
Almeria striker Luis Suarez profiled
The notion of a striker named Luis Suarez leading the United attack just sounds bizarre, but Colombian international Suarez has made a name for himself.
The 27-year-old started out with Leones in Colombia but was snapped up by Watford at the age of just 20, having caught the eye on loan at Granada B.
Suarez never actually made a first-team appearance for Watford, spending his time out on loan at Real Valladolid, Gimnastic and Real Zaragoza.
Suarez was scoring plenty of goals in Spain and joined Granada permanently in 2020, hitting 13 goals in two seasons.
A brief spell with Marseille didn’t work out, but Suarez has impressed in front of goal since moving to Almeria.
Suarez smashed 27 goals in 41 Segunda Division games last season, taking his Almeria tally to 37 goals in 76 league appearances.
Suarez has excelled for Almeria, but we really can’t see United spending on a second-tier striker who turns 28 later this year, with United’s name potentially mentioned in an effort to force Sporting’s hand.
This would be a rare payday for a second-tier side in Spain and a move to Sporting certainly makes more sense than a move to United this summer.
