Stein shared on X that Orlando is “adding Bucks assistant Joe Prunty as well as God Shammgod”, bringing in a combined wealth of knowledge to support a Magic roster that’s undergoing big changes this offseason.
Prunty, 56, brings nearly 30 years of NBA coaching experience. He most recently served as an assistant for the Milwaukee Bucks, where he stepped in multiple times as an interim head coach, including during the 2023–24 season.
Over his career, Prunty has worked for nine NBA franchises: the Spurs, Mavericks, Trail Blazers, Cavaliers, Nets, Suns, Hawks, and Bucks.
He’s also no stranger to success, having won three NBA championships with the San Antonio Spurs (1999, 2003, 2005) and, most recently, the NBA Cup with Milwaukee in 2024.
Alongside Prunty, God Shammgod brings his well-known player development skills to the Magic bench.
