Brown officially took over after the Knicks parted ways with Tom Thibodeau, who led the team to the Eastern Conference Finals last season. But Teague isn’t convinced Brown is the right fit.
On his Club 520 Podcast, Teague said, “I ain’t never really heard too many people like Mike Brown — I ain’t saying they don’t, I just never heard nobody sing high praises for Mike Brown.”
“I never heard Bron say anything like Mike Brown is unbelievable. I mean, I never really heard Mike. He talked about Ty, Tyronn Lue. Yeah, that’s the only coach I ever heard him talk about,” he added.
Brown has over 20 years of coaching experience and is a two-time NBA Coach of the Year. He made the NBA Finals in 2007 with the Cleveland Cavaliers, led the Sacramento Kings to their first playoffs in 16 years, but has yet to win a championship as a head coach.
