Leeds United are still looking for a striker and Alexander Sorloth could be the answer.

Daniel Farke is seeking top-quality options as his side attempts to secure Premier League survival next season.

There are doubts over Joel Piroe, who was the Championship’s top goalscorer last time out, and the likes of Patrick Bamford and Mateo Joseph could be allowed to leave.

The 49ers Enterprises group need to make a splash in the market and the Atletico Madrid man would do exactly that.

Leeds tipped to make Sorloth move

The Elland Road outfit needs a new forward, whether it is to replace Piroe or alternate with the Dutchman depending on the contest.

Iconic commentator Ian Darke has tipped the Whites to sign the Norwegian, as they desperately need a quality forward.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News about Sorloth’s potential next destination, he said: “Maybe Newcastle or Leeds, say Newcastle lost Isak, it is not the worst idea.

“He will be on good money at Atletico for sure, and he is getting Champions League, but I am a bit surprised that, with the amount of money there is around the Premier League, that his figures have not tweaked somebody.”

Sorloth is exactly the type of signing that Leeds need

The Peacocks have already confirmed the signings of Jaka Bijol, Lukas Nmecha and Sebastiaan Bornauw but need more if they are to survive.

Sorloth is a proven goalscorer at the elite level, having notched 20 goals in 35 La Liga matches last season.

The 49ers could utilise the riches that they will get from the top flight to sanction a deal for the 29-year-old, who is behind Julian Alvarez and Antoine Griezmann in the pecking order in Madrid.

He has a limited amount of experience in the English game, having made 20 appearances for Crystal Palace between 2018 and 2020.

His previous spell in the country was nothing to write home about, but he has improved tremendously as a player and would offer the Whites a reliable option to lead the line, so the ownership should get it done.

They have been linked with the likes of Nikola Krstovic and Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Sorloth would be a better option.
