From yesterday’s reported interest in top-quality young goal keeping talentZion Suzuki comes further news – from a couple of fan sites anyway- of a ‘confirmed’ Hammers’ bid for the young genius ‘keeper of £21.5 million.

Their article – and the general consensus – is that it’ll take a lot more than that to prise the 22 year old away from his club. Whether it is £30 million or the £40 million which Manchester United (yahoo sports) were quoted several weeks ago- who knows.

You’d have to say West Ham have bigger transfer priorities to fix for twenty million quid-plus. Which suggests-if the reports are true-that the Irons might have a lot more cash to burn than they’re letting on. Wouldn’t be the first time. David Sullivan spent all of last June telling the world that West Ham were skint before the £140 million ten player splurge.
