Martin Zubimendi has called his transfer to Arsenal a ‘huge moment’ in his career after completing a €65m move to North London.
Zubimendi has been officially announced as an Arsenal player and has signed a long-term contract with the Gunners. He joins former Real Sociedad teammates Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino at the Emirates next season.

The Spain international turned down a move away from Real Sociedad last summer, amid interest from Liverpool, but has opened up on why he feels Arsenal is the right challenge.
Zubimendi has said he feels Arsenal are a ‘good fit’ for his style of football. After three consecutive runners-up finishes in the Premier League, the midfielder added that he is confident ‘the best is yet to come’ for Mikel Arteta’s ambitious squad.
“Once I made the decision to leave, I set my sights on Arsenal because I think their style of play is a good fit for me,” Zubimendi told the club’s official website.
“It’s a young, highly motivated and ambitious team. They have shown their potential recently, and I believe the best is yet to come.
“As soon as you set foot here, you realise how big this club and this team are. Andrea [Berta] and Mikel [Arteta] took excellent care of me, leaving me with no doubts whatsoever.
“This is a huge moment in my career. It’s the move I was looking for; one I wanted to make. Of course, it’s a big change, but I’m ready to get started.”
