Manchester United have been dealt a blow in the transfer market as Viktor Gyokeres looks set to move to Arsenal, so it’s time for Ruben Amorim to find an opportunity in the crisis.
Throughout the transfer window, especially since Liam Delap moved to Chelsea, the prospect of Man Utd’s move for Viktor Gyokeres kept strengthening.
United’s financial situation made it tricky, but Gyokeres’ own troubles at Sporting meant that the stars could align late in the window.
However, now that Gyokeres is close to Arsenal, Ruben Amorim is set to lose out on his dream target. Fortunately, he has a phenom at Old Trafford who is yet to be unleashed.

Ruben Amorim must give Gabriele Biancheri a chance
United’s blushes in the striking department were saved to a certain extent in 2024/25 when Chido Obi arrived as a breath of fresh air.
Obi didn’t score in competitive games, but his energy, attitude, and application stood in stark contrast to a drooping Rasmus Hojlund devoid of confidence.
Now that United’s striker search has seen them “strike out” on Delap and Gyokeres, Amorim must look to the academy again.

Gabriele Biancheri has dominated academy football for the last two seasons, scoring at every level with extreme clinical precision.
He scored 24 goals in all competitions last season and added six assists, especially dominating the U18s despite not being the tallest or the strongest on the pitch.
If Hojlund and Obi provide pace and physicality, Biancheri provides craftiness, poise, and excellent anticipation plus instincts.
Amorim needs to get the whole Man Utd squad firing next season with a better system and approach to attacking. If they can start creating chances regularly, Biancheri is the no-brainer option to be at the end of those.
Biancheri can save Man Utd millions
Biancheri is an intriguing choice to add to the senior team because it diversifies the attack, since Hojlund and Obi have much the same attributes and playing style.
Biancheri, as a poacher, can run the channels and be a “fox in the box” for a team that creates chances, which, up until last season, was a huge issue.
If everything goes well and Amorim does manage to fix the attack, then Biancheri can save United millions that they would have spent on a striker, arguably a third or fourth choice in the market.
The academy has long been a saviour for the club, and the ethos “Youth. Courage. Success.” is not just for lip service.
The stars are aligning for Biancheri to be given a chance after he’s broken down the doors at the academy level. Rejection by Gyokeres should be the spark that lights the fire.
