Bayern Munich exec Max Eberl cracks PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma for reckless — but unintentional …

When Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma made the decision to take a dive at the ball to his left, while Jamal Musiala was crashing in hard, contact was inevitable.

However, the collision resulted in the towering and sturdy Donnarumma throwing the force of his body into the legs of Musiala — who is not going to qualify for Mr. Olympia any time soon.

Musiala would end up with what has been reported to be a broken fibula and some ligament damage. For Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl. it was a play that should not have happened.

“When I jump onto his [Musiala’s] lower leg while sprinting, weighing 100 kg, there’s a high risk of something happening. I don’t think he did it intentionally, but he also wasn’t being considerate,” Eberl said (as captured by Sky Germany’s Kerry Hau via @iMiaSanMia).

Yes, the situation could have been avoided, but Donnarumma was not willing to find out what might happen if he did not make a play on the ball. It was truly a bang-bang moment that will now likely cost Musiala at least a good chunk of the Hinrunde — or even the entire first half of the season.
