The Brazil international has struggled to live up to expectations since his €50m move from Aston Villa last summer, turning out for just 516 minutes across 19 appearances in Serie A last term for an average of 27 minutes per run out.
The 27-year-old has already been linked with a series of moves away from Juventus this summer,including to Nottingham Forest andmost recently Leeds United,

However, reports fromCalciomercato.com on Sunday confirm that Juventus have informed Douglas Luiz that he is free to find a new club for the 2025-26 season.
Sunday’s report suggests that Juventus feel they cannot rely on the Brazilian based on his showing during his first season in Serie A, and that the new coaching staff, led by Igor Tudor, have decided against giving him a ‘second chance’.
Calciomercato adds that Douglas Luiz will want to be playing as regularly as possible if he is to stake a claim at being included in Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad for the 2026 World Cup in North America.
