Sealing wins.
Garbage take on Bucs defensive lineman Logan Hall.
This offseason, Bucs coach Todd Bowles raved about how improved the former second-round pick was last year. Hall demonstrated an ability to get to the passer.
Bowles even bragged that Hall has pass-rushing moves that the Bucs haven’t yet unleashed. Naturally, Joe wondered, “What are you waiting for?”
Well, the social media account known as “Pick Em,” is down on Hall, no matter what Bowles had to say.
This “Pick Em” feed is not impressed with Hall’s 5.5 sacks last year, which tied Lavonte David for third-most on the team. Per “Pick Em,” too many of Hall’s sacks came in garbage time, when the game was largely already decided.
As regular readers know, Joe puts a significant amount of stock into sacks. And the way Joe looks at it, if a guy is getting sacks in garbage time, that’s closing the deal.
What, would the faceless “Pick Em” be happy with quarterbacks not getting sacked in garbage time, allowing a team a shot of coming from behind to win?
Heaven forbid a defender doesn’t want to keep the door open for a team to make a comeback.
This is simply an unfair critique of Hall.
