West Ham could be close to selling Mohammed Kudus, but he is now likely to join bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Kudus will likely depart this summer as the Hammers look to raise funds to improve their financial situation, but fans may not be happy.

West Ham’s poor spending in recent years has put them in a difficult PSR situation, but they aren’t in desperate need to sell yet.

Kudus enjoyed a strong first season at West Ham before struggling last year, but he is now set to stay in London as his transfer desire has become clear.

Despite Chelsea’s interest in Kudus, it has now emerged that he is only keen on joining Tottenham, with personal terms close to being agreed.

Kudus has performed well for West Ham

Fabrizio Romano has now reported that Kudus has “said yes” to Tottenham, with a clear intention to join them as talks between the two continue, following a failed £50million bid in recent days.

West Ham fans will be furious with Kudus as a result, and the Irons may now find themselves in a difficult position.

Kudus has betrayed West Ham

Tottenham are one of West Ham’s biggest rivals, and there has been an unofficial embargo on transfers between the two clubs in recent years.

The Hammers would have preferred to sell to anyone else, even Chelsea, rather than Spurs, and with Arsenal among the teams interested in Kudus, a bidding war could have ensued.

However, Kudus’ stance will prevent a battle for his signature, as he is only keen on Spurs. This could end up driving his price down, with the player putting his club in a weaker negotiating position.

Chelsea may have been able to offer a bigger fee than Spurs, but Kudus has betrayed West Ham fans by forcing a possible move to their heated rivals, in a decision which will also cost them financially.
