Newcastle United have previously been linked with a move for Manchester City star Jack Grealish, who is free to leave the Premier League giants this summer.
The Magpies are looking for more strength in depth ahead of their return to the Champions League next season, and have identified four positions in dire need of improvement.
Newcastle United want to improve their goalkeeper, centre-back, right-wing and striker positions, but they have still found themselves reportedly interested in signing Jack Grealish from Manchester City.
The 29-year-old has been shunned by Pep Guardiola, who is clearly ready to see the back of the winger whom he signed for £100million in 2021. Grealish is keeping his options open about a move, but Newcastle are believed to be one of the options on the table for him.
With Eddie Howe interested, a new transfer report has shared an updated price tag for the Champions League winner which could have the Magpies placing a bid.

Jack Grealish given £40m price tag amid Newcastle United interest
Ben Foster called for Grealish to join Newcastle, believing the move would cause ‘fireworks’ on Tyneside. There is definitely a quality player still in Grealish, but it is clear that he needs a fresh start elsewhere for the good of his career.
Newcastle have a healthy transfer budget this summer, with a total of over £150m believed to be available for them. They should still have enough to sign Grealish even after deals for Anthony Elanga and James Trafford are done.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Man City should be happy to accept a bid of £40m for Grealish this summer. That news comes just a couple of weeks after reports stated that Man City wanted £50m for him, so his valuation could still come down as the transfer window progresses.

With Grealish set to leave this summer, Guardiola is clearly ready to make a substantial loss on the winger this summer.
Jeff Stelling believes Newcastle should sign Grealish; his call could come true if the price is right.
Man City have set a deadline to sell Jack Grealish amid Newcastle United links
Grealish would be a great addition to Newcastle’s first-team squad, but there will naturally be concerns about his wages if he were to join. The 29-year-old is on £300,000-a-week at Man City, making him the highest-paid English player in the Premier League.
If he were to join Newcastle on similar wages, he would be earning almost double what the current highest earner Bruno Guimaraes does on Tyneside.

As the days go by, it is getting much clearer that Man City are desperate to sell Grealish. A recent report stated that Man City want Grealish sold before pre-season. After their Club World Cup campaign, Guardiola’s side returns to pre-season on July 28, but they do not expect him back for it.
Grealish’s Man City career is clearly over, so he and his agents must now make a decision on where they want to go next.
