It looks as if Chelsea are set to miss out on one of their top transfer targets for the rest of the summer transfer window.
Despite already bringing in a heap of attackers, the Blues have been keen to add Mohammed Kudus to their ranks, with him set to leave West Ham before the new season gets underway.
It has been reported West Ham are expecting a big bid from Chelsea after it became clear that Tottenham had launched a bid to sign him.
While no deal has been agreed between the two London rivals, Fabrizio Romano has reported that at this stage, the Ghana international is keen on a move to Spurs.
🚨🤍 Understand Mohammed Kudus is not talking to any other club at this stage: he wants Tottenham move.
Kudus already said yes to Spurs project and club to club talks with West Ham will continue soon.
Clear intention is to join Spurs. #THFC

While the Blues could of course still launch a bid to sign him, they should instead turn their attention to another attacker they have been linked to during this summer window.

Chelsea must forget about Mohammed Kudus and sign Morgan Rogers instead
Morgan Rogers enjoyed a very strong season at Aston Villa, however missed out on Champions League football at the hands of Chelsea on the last day of the season.
Chelsea have reportedly been in contact with Rogers’ agent to understand the circumstances surrounding a potential deal.

After a window of signing players who Enzo Maresca is a fan of, it should also be noted that Maresca is a big fan of Rogers.
With the Blues able to offer the top level of European football to any transfer targets this summer, they could make a really tempting pitch to the England international.

Rogers vs Kudus 24/25 stats
Rogers was starring in the Champions League last season for Villa. His performances in Europe saw him described as ‘outstanding’ (Stiliyan Petrov – TNT Sports).
Rogers vs Kudus 24/25 Games Goals Assists
Morgan Rogers 54 14 15
Mohammed Kudus 35 5 4
With Chelsea planning to build a squad that have as many as five or six players who can regularly chip in with goals, and this is the thought behind bringing in the likes of Pedro and Gittens so far.
Any deal for Rogers is going to set the Blues back a serious transfer fee, however their ever-building prize money from the Club World Cup could be put to good use with the signing of the attacker.
