Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Dr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said: “The club may take a closer look at his recent significant muscle injury to see if there’s any potential for longer-term recurrence.

“He missed quite a few games last season because of it, so that’s undoubtedly a worry.

“However, any club will look at the risk/reward before making a decision about it.”

West Ham should consider signing Gonzalez

West Ham should consider signing Gonzalez due to his versatility, proven qualityand potential to thrive under Graham Potter’s system.

The 27-year-old Argentine winger offers dynamism on both flanks or centrally, addressing the Hammers’ need for creativity with Mohammed Kudus’ potential departure.

Despite a modest 2024/25 season, his Fiorentina stint showcases his ability to deliver consistent goal contributions.

Potter’s tactically flexible, possession-based 3-5-2 formation, which utilises split strikers and wing-backs, suits the Argentine’s work rate and flair.

By deploying him as a mobile forward alongside Jarrod Bowen, Potter can maximise Gonzalez’s pace, dribbling and pressing, enhancing the Irons’ attacking fluidity while leveraging his Copa America-winning experience to boost squad morale.
