Marcus Rashford has been one of the Manchester United youth academy’s best output in recent years.
However, in the last two seasons, Rashford hasn’t been as involved with the United matchday squad.
This can especially be seen last season where the winger only featured 16 times for the Red Devils in the Premier League.
This has led to other players filling in Rashford’s role which has subsequently led to the winger being cast out from the starting eleven.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Marcus Rashford’s future.
Through the social media platform X, he has revealed that a new round of talks will take place next week to decide the former English international’s future.
He has also revealed that the 27-year-old has accepted he’s not part of both Manchester United’s and Ruben Amorim’s plans for the upcoming season.
This follows hints of the winger’s departure over the last few weeks.
This includes changing his profile picture on X and pursuing options away from Old Trafford.
The winger will now look towards other options away from Old Trafford.
This may include Barcelona who could pursue Rashford after their failed attempt to buy Nico Williams from Athletic Club.
At 27 years old, Rashford is entering the prime of his career and will look for a new club where he can impress and feature regularly.
For Manchester United, this departure means a number of things.
Firstly, it means losing someone who understands the club fully. This is due to his upbringing through the United academy.
But, it will also mean freeing up space in the Red Devils frontline.
This will allow United to pursue other options ahead of the 2025-26 season.
