Viktor Gyokeres looks to be on his way to England.
However, it will not be to join Manchester United.
Instead, he is expected to join Arsenal.
This follows him reaching a full agreement to join the Gunners earlier today.
Gyokeres has been at the centre of attention during this year’s summer transfer window with several Premier League clubs including Liverpool battling it out alongside the Red Devils to bring Gyokeres to their club ahead of the 2025-26 season.
This attention follows an impressive season from the Swedish international last campaign.
This campaign saw the 27-year-old score 39 goals in the Liga Portugal as Sporting CP won the Portuguese title.
Now, CNN Portugal have revealed the fee that Mikel Arteta’s side will pay to Sporting for the striker.
According to the Portuguese outlet, Arsenal will pay a fixed fee of £56 million to the Portuguese champions for the striker.
Alongside this, the Gunners will also pay between £8-13 million in additional fees.
This fee will bring Gyokeres to Arsenal where he will certainly start in Arteta’s 4-2-3-1 formation.
The striker will aim to replicate the same goal-scoring form that attracted the interest of the Gunners in the Premier League next season.
Here, he will also face Manchester United twice both at Old Trafford and at the Emirates.
For the Red Devils, they will now have to turn their attention towards other targets to bring more quality and depth to the striker position.
This could come in the form of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Calvert-Lewin was recently released from Everton following the expiry of his contract.
However, United have been reported to carry an interest in bring the striker to Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim may also choose to pursue other options who could bring the same ability and attributes as Viktor Gyokeres to Manchester United.
