The Jacksonville Jaguars left no stone unturned in their pursuit of a superstar this offseason.
New general manager James Gladstone made a big splash right out of the gate, and though they had to give up a lot to trade up to the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, it might all be worth it if Travis Hunter proves to be a true two-way star.
Yet, even a special athlete like Hunter can only do so much.
That’s why Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce said he believes opposing teams will look to wear down Hunter if he plays on both sides of the ball.
“World-class athlete. Teams are gonna be going after him. If he plays corner, they are going to run deep balls at him all day just to try to get him tired,” Kelce said, via Dov Kleiman.
Wow: Travis Kelce shares how teams will deal with superstar WR/DB Travis Hunter, if he plays both ways:

That might be the wisest way to try to neutralize Hunter, who can beat most players in coverage as a wide receiver and severely limit opposing receivers while playing cornerback.
He likely can’t play every single snap in the pros, and if he does, he’s going to be exhausted down the stretch.
That will also help opposing defenses keep him in check as a pass-catcher.
There’s no doubt Hunter has the potential to be an All-Pro at both positions, but as good as he is, NFL teams will find ways to deal with him.
