Much has been made about the relationship between Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and receiver A.J. Brown. The top passing duo in Philadelphia is aware of the ebbs and flows of public concern over the allegedly changing dynamics of their relationship.
From rumors of a fractured friendship in 2023 to Brown calling out the team's "passing" problems in 2024, some wonder whether the Eagles' quarterback and receiver are heading for an inevitable split in the future.
But according to one Eagles leader, a breakup is not on the horizon.
In an exclusive visit with EssentiallySports, Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert spoke about his truth centered around Philadelphia's top duo.
"I think they've got a great relationship," Goedert said. "They're both passionate. They're both very meticulous at what they do. You know, I think they got a great relationship.
"Sometimes the Philadelphia media likes to stir stuff up."
Since the Eagles acquired Brown in a draft-day trade in 2022, Philadelphia has been to the Super Bowl twice, has won a championship, and has seen the receiver become an All-Pro superstar in the league. In the case of Hurts, he has become a Pro Bowler in his own right to go along with a Super Bowl MVP during this same stretch.
Hurts and Brown's relationship has changed since they first joined forces. That, it can be argued, was always going to happen.
The fact is, though, that they continue to play at a very high level together. Philadelphia did not lose a game in 2024 that Hurts and Brown played and finished together.
That is an 18-0 mark from last year, including a win in Super Bowl LIX.
People can try to overanalyze the two - and NFC East rivals would enjoy seeing an implosion - but the reality is that both players are elite when performing together. Goedert is just the latest player to make that reality clear to the critics of the colorful Super Bowl champs.
