Crystal Palace could reinvest big transfer sales in multiple new signings for the club.
Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi have been central to the club’s work in recent years but are both heavily linked with departures to teams playing Champions League football. Given their quality, sales won’t come cheap, and those funds could be reinvested back into the Crystal Palace team.
LondonWorld looks at how Crystal Palace could line up next season if the ‘sensible’ current transfer rumours come true.
Crystal Palace XI with five ‘sensible’ transfers
Goalkeeper: Dean Henderson
Centre-backs: Ousmane Diomande, Maxence Lacroix, Rav van den Berg
Dean Henderson enjoyed yet another impressive season between the sticks and will certainly start as number one. He will face competition from Walter Benitez, who has arrived at Crystal Palace from PSV Eindhoven and brings European experience with him.
Marc Guehi has been a fantastic servant to the Eagles but now looks set to leave with his contract expiring next year - Liverpool are frontrunners at this stage. Maxence Lacroix could be partnered by highly-rated Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diomande with Crystal Palace seemingly reaching closer to that deal. The Sun claim that the south London club could also move for Middlesbrough defender Rav van den Berg.
Full-backs: Daniel Munoz, Kyle Walker-Peters
Midfielders: Adam Wharton, Jens Cajuste
Daniel Munoz had been linked with a move to Chelsea at one stage this year but the Blues now seem occupied with splurging their endless cash on other targets. That’s a boost for Crystal Palace but the club could still lose Tyrick Mitchell to Atletico Madrid, according to Fichajes. GIVEMESPORT have claimed that the club has made an approach for Kyle Walker-Peters, who is a free agent having left Southampton and could be a ready made replacement.
Sky Sports reported on Friday that the club is competing with Burnley to bring defensive midfielder Jens Cajuste back to the Premier League from Napoli. He caught the eye on loan at Ipswich Town last season and could partner linchpin Adam Wharton.
Liverpool could offer Eagles Eberechi Eze replacement
Attacking midfielders: Ben Doak, Ismaila Sarr
Striker: Jean-Philippe Mateta
Manchester United had been told to come knocking for Jean-Phillipe Mateta but do not appear to be doing so, in a big win for Crystal Palace. That’s all the more important with Eberechi Eze reportedly a target for an Arsenal outfit determined to add attacking impetus.
Should Eze leave, Glasner could look to the Championship for talent again. Ben Doak impressed in the second tier at Middlesbrough on loan from Liverpool last term and The Sun claim that the Reds could offer the winger as part of a swap deal for Guehi.
In other news, Crystal Palace make 'formal offer' for £42.3m attacker with 14 goal contributions.
