Stats Reveal How Impressive Jared Goff Has Been In Past 3 Seasons

The Detroit Lions drew considerable criticism when they swapped quarterbacks with the Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams went on to win the Super Bowl in their first year with Matthew Stafford, making it look even worse for the Lions.

However, Jared Goff has been excellent since he joined forces with head coach Dan Campbell.

As pointed out by JPAFootball on X, Goff’s numbers have been similar to or better than Patrick Mahomes’ over the past three seasons.

During that span, Goff has more passing touchdowns (96) than Mahomes (94).

He also has fewer interceptions (31 to 37), more passing yards (13,642 to 13,361), a better completion percentage (68.1 percent to 67.3 percent), and a higher passer rating (102.7 to 97.3).

To be fair, Goff’s supporting cast is significantly better than what the Kansas City Chiefs provide Mahomes, so his numbers have taken a hit recently.

Then again, if people still consider Mahomes to be the best quarterback in the game, they also need to start giving Goff some credit.

The No. 1 overall pick from the 2016 NFL Draft has drawn a bad rap around the league for his shortcomings with the Rams, and he’s also fallen short a couple of times in big moments for the Lions, but he’s much better than people give him credit for.

While the Lions have yet to win a Super Bowl with Goff, this seems to be one of those few instances when all parties won the trade.
