Dallas Cowboys All-Pro arrested on two charges

As one of the most popular franchises in sports history, the Dallas Cowboys always bring a lot of attention. Naturally, that includes their players, even during the offseason.

The latest Cowboys player making headlines is All-Pro returner/wide receiver KaVontae Turpin, who was [arrested](https://www.cbsnews.com/texas/news/dallas-cowboys-wide-receiver-kavontae-turpin-arrested-allen-texas/) and booked into the Collin County, Texas jail on Sunday morning.

Turpin has been charged with two misdemeanors, one being a weapons charge and the other a marijuana charge. His bond amount was listed at $500 after being booked for unlawful carrying of a weapon.

Each charge will draw attention from the NFL, putting Turpin at risk of receiving a suspension along with a fine. While the NFL tends to look past minor marijuana charges, the weapon could be a different story.

Still, even the drug charges will likely mean Turpin will face more frequent drug tests from the league.

Turpin, 28, is coming off his best NFL season yet, tallying a career-high 420 receiving yards to go with two touchdown catches. But it was his effort on kick returns that earned him first-team All-Pro status, as Turpin racked up an NFL-high 904 kick return yards to go with a touchdown.
